PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMME
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
ZCAS is an ACCA Platinum Learning Partner — the highest level of accreditation available to ACCA learning providers — accredited to offer tuition, examinations, and support at all levels.
The ACCA Programme connects businesses both large and small, governments, educational establishments, and decision makers. It is sought after globally, meaning that those who hold it can work anywhere in the world as a Chartered Accountant. Being a Chartered Accountant enables one to work as a Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, Corporate Treasurer, Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Fund Accountant, Finance Director, Forensic Accountant, Chief Financial Officer, Internal or External Auditor, or Tax Specialist. Students who study ACCA develop creativity, innovativeness, critical thinking, and ultimately become strategic-thinking professional accountants who meet the ever-changing demands of the world.
Through a powerful combination of examinations, ethics, and experience, a candidate develops the strategic skillset, technical ability, and professional mindset to immediately add value to any organisation — and take their career to new heights.
There are two entry routes to acquiring the ACCA qualification:
- Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) route
- Straight into the ACCA route
Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) Route
The FIA route is available to Grade 12 school leavers and those working in finance who have no formal qualification in accounting or finance. The FIA Programme has three levels, each building on the last, and leads to the globally recognised ACCA qualification.

Straight into the ACCA Route
The ACCA route is only open to candidates who have prior relevant experience and qualifications — for example, A Levels, a diploma, or a degree in any field. It is not available to candidates whose only qualification is Grade 12 or GCE. Some qualifications are recognised for exemptions granted by ACCA based on equivalent papers passed elsewhere, where the qualification is accredited by ACCA. For example, a candidate with an accounting degree from an ACCA-accredited learning institution may be exempted from the entire ACCA Applied Skills Level.
Programme Structure
Applied Knowledge Level
The Applied Knowledge level introduces candidates to the world of finance and accounting, building a broad understanding of essential accounting techniques. Completing these three examinations earns the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4) and qualifies candidates to begin the Applied Skills level.
- Business and Technology (BT)
- Management Accounting (MA)
- Financial Accounting (FA)
Entry: University-entrance level (mature entry) or a degree in a non-accounting field.
Applied Skills Level
Upon completion of the ACCA Applied Knowledge level or the FIA Diploma, candidates are eligible to proceed to the Applied Skills level. Exemptions may be granted by ACCA for relevant accredited degrees — for example, ZCAS University graduates holding a Bachelor of Finance (BAF) or Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (BAC) may be eligible for exemptions.
- Business and Corporate Law (CA 1.4)
- Performance Management (PM)
- Advanced Taxation (CA 3.4)
- Financial Reporting (FR)
- Audit and Assurance (AA)
- Financial Management (FM)
Strategic Professional Essentials
This stage follows the ACCA Applied Skills level. Candidates must complete both Essentials papers:
- Strategic Business Leader (SBL)
- Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)
Entry: Completion of the Applied Skills level, or any ACCA-accredited degree qualification.
Strategic Professional Options
This is the final stage of the ACCA qualification. ZCAS offers three of the four available options, and students are required to choose any two to sit for:
- Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
- Advanced Performance Management (APM)
- Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)
With its flexible study options and global recognition, ACCA is a highly respected qualification that opens doors to careers in auditing, taxation, financial management, consulting, and more.
Mode of Study: Full time, part time, and online learning platforms.
