Association of Business Executives (ABE)

The ABE programme provides a professional qualification that may be used to prepare directly for a career in business, or to gain advanced entry onto a range of professional qualifications and university degrees. Major themes running throughout the programme include Management, Finance and Accounting. ABE courses are offered twice annually commencing in January or July for the June/December examinations respectively. ZCAS offers ABE in full-time, evening and online methods of study. The programme provides students with an appreciation of the theoretical issues currently involved in the study of business and a range of practical skills which will enhance their value to potential employers:

• Expertise in business management – skills and knowledge required for you to work at a senior strategic level.
• Entrepreneurialism – entrepreneurial skills are embedded throughout the programme. This is a great benefit as employers increasingly value staff who demonstrate entrepreneurial abilities.

This qualification gives you a thorough grounding in Business Management and is a great a springboard for progressing to higher levels of academic study. It is at the same level of difficulty as year one of a bachelor’s degree. The following modules are taken at this level:

• Dynamic Business Environments
• Enterprising Organizations
• Employability and Self-Development
• Finance for Managers

• Introduction to Entrepreneurship
• Introduction to Quantitative Methods
• Project Management
• Dynamic and Collaborative Teams

This qualification will develop a strategic understanding of business management principles and practical application. It is at the same level of difficulty as year two of a bachelor’s degree. The following modules are compulsory:

• Managing Agile Organizations and People
• Innovation and Business Performance
• Effective Financial Management
• International Business Economics and Markets

The following modules are optional:

• Operations Management
• Analytical Decision-Making
• Managing Stakeholder Relationships

This qualification aims to develop the theoretical knowledge and strategic skillset you need to excel in a leadership role. It is at the same level of difficulty as the final year of a bachelor’s degree. The following modules are compulsory:

• Leading Strategic Change
• Business Strategy and Decision-Making
• Developing International Markets
• Business Ethics and Sustainability

The following modules are optional:

• Strategic Stakeholder Relationships
• Corporate Finance
• Advanced Project Management

• Minimum of 5 O’Level passes including English and Mathematics
• Completion of a level or equivalent gives entry to the next higher level
