The Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) is committed to providing a positive work and study environment that is free from all forms of sexual harassment. The institution adopts a zero-tolerance approach and ensures that all reported cases are handled promptly, fairly, and confidentially.
Sexual harassment is strictly prohibited within ZCAS premises and in any context associated with the institution, including academic activities, social events, and official engagements.
What is Sexual Harassment?
Sexual harassment refers to any unwanted behavior of a sexual nature that:
- Violates an individual’s dignity
- Creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment
- Includes verbal, physical, or digital misconduct
Examples include:
- Unwelcome sexual advances
- Inappropriate comments or jokes
- Sharing explicit content
- Online harassment or stalking
Reporting a Case
ZCAS encourages all staff and students to report incidents as soon as possible.
Reports can be made through:
- Student Counselling and Placement Office
- Human Resource Office
- Supervisors or Heads of Department
- Whistleblowing channels (where appropriate)
All complaints are handled with strict confidentiality.
Investigation & Resolution
- All reported cases are formally documented
- Investigations begin within defined timelines
- Cases may be resolved through informal or formal processes
- Disciplinary action is taken where necessary
ZCAS ensures fairness, confidentiality, and protection for all parties involved.
Protection Against Retaliation
ZCAS strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports a case or participates in an investigation.
