Overview
The demand for qualified lecturers and teachers of accounting courses in colleges and secondary schools has made it necessary to introduce the BScCompEd degree programme in order to raise the standards of teaching/lecturing in ICT these institutions. The collaboration between UNZA and ZCAS presents an opportunity to produce a product that will help to raise the standard of teaching ICTs in the country and the region.
To equip candidates with knowledge and skills in the fields of ICT and pedagogy in order for them to teach ICT programmes effectively.
To qualify for admission to the BComp Ed Programme an applicant must have a minimum of five credits at O’ level including English and must satisfy the Entrance Requirements of the BComp Ed Programme which are:
- Successful completion of the one-year pre-degree programme offered by ZCAS
- Successful completion first of year of Bachelor of Science with Education or BEDMAS
- Successful completion of Diploma in Secondary Education Science and Mathematics
- Degree holders in ICT
- Any other relevant advanced diploma in ICT programme such as NCC-IAD or L5, the British qualification IMIS HND
- Any relevant 3 year diploma in any ICT related area from a reputable college or university
- Three ‘A’ level passes including Mathematics or equivalent.
DURATION OF STUDY
The programme runs for four years on full time, part time and distance education and not more than five academic years in case of any eventualities or unforeseen circumstances.
